Ulduar: Razorscale retires to the Old Dragon's reserve

Previously known as Veranus, Razorscale was captured by Loken and twisted into a vicious weapon. Under Loken's orders, Ignis the Furnace Master fused iron plates onto Razorscale's scales to enhance her deadly strikes.

Razorscale and her dark iron dwarves were defeated on another great raid by the Guardians.

Well done guys!

Here's the tankspot guide to Razorscale.

Warlock Q&A with Ghostcrawler
(Jul 02, 09)
This Q&A was one of the few I was looking forward to, because I have a warlock in hiatus right now that I've been wanting to play for a while.

I personally liked the interview. It looks like Blizzard wants to improve the class as it is right now, but not necessarily buff them. Before I go into details and spoil it for you guys, I'm going to quote the interview entirely after the break, or you can read the original one linked below:

More Huge News: Faction Change Service Coming
(Jun 29, 09)
Nethaera has just announced on the official forums that we will soon be receiving the ability to change our faction.

Holy crap.

This may be the most radical, fundamental change to the game dynamic that I've seen since the game came out. I admit i've always wanted this for my own characters, but really...I guess it was one of those things I never thought would change. Now that it's changing, it's kind of...scary.

The full quote from Nethaera is after the break.

Strategist: Flame Leviathan
(Jun 27, 09)
Welcome to my new series in the Wowhead Blog - the Strategist! Malgayne has heard me, on many occasions, complain how the Overview section on all of the Ulduar bosses is just...not enough. They are all too complex to be explained by a single paragraph or by a list of their spells. This worked well with Naxxramas, because many people were familiar with the fights, and the actual fights were not overly complicated. Unfortunately, Ulduar is far from simple...

And this is how the Strategist was born! Partly inspired by Discover's The Eye of Eternity: A Raid Overview blog entry, party my own musing, the Strategist will present you with a strategy (or multiple strategies when applicable) for each of the bosses in the titanic complex... and other raids as well, if things go well. Hard Modes will be covered as well, but knowing that my own guild is still struggling with about half of them, those sections may be a little vague, or even missing.

But enough with the introductions! Read on, and learn about the first boss in Ulduar - the Flame Leviathan.

New Items in 3.2 (Build 10026)
(Jun 26, 09)
I know you guys are eager to see the new items in the Public Test Realm build. Well, you better set aside a good bit of time, because you have 823 new items to review, including the new Heirloom Chest Pieces!

We've also updated our filters to include the 'Added in Patch 3.2' filter so you can filter for quests, NPCs, objects, and of course items in the PTR - although you'll probably want additional filters for that last search. ;)

Enjoy!

THE PROFILER IS HERE!!!

It's been created, scrapped, and re-created six times, by 2 different developers. And now, just when it looked set to become the Duke Nukem Forever of Wowhead, the time has finally come.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Wowhead Profiler is here.

PTR Site Up!

Dusting Off Those Retired Characters
(Jun 24, 09)
Because of Blizzard's recent announcements that mounts and other speed-boosting forms will be attainable at lower levels, I have finally found the motivation to do something I probably haven't done in a very, very long time: Log onto World of Warcraft and level up some characters which I thought were going to be in permanent retirement.

That's right. Up until recently, I haven't been playing World of Warcraft mainly because of school, but also because I haven't found the motivation. With the exciting upcoming changes, however, it looks like that long-lost motivation has finally come.

Midsummer Fire Festival 2009 (June 21 - July 5)
(Jun 21, 09)
Midsummer is here! World of Warcraft's Midsummer Fire Festival begins at 4:00am server time on June 21 and runs til 4:00am server time on July 5, and this year's festivities are better than ever! Acquire flaming threads, a sweet tabard, a fiery companion and more! Complete achievements to earn a new player title - Horde players can obtain the title 'Flame Keeper' and Alliance players can obtain the title 'Flame Warden.'

There are bonfires located in each major capital city, which are surrounded by questgivers, Midsummer Celebrants, and a Midsummer Supplier or Midsummer Merchant who sells items in exchange for . There are 'Commoner' NPCs of all races (including goblins!) that can be found lingering around the major cities and will give you a short (though unnecessary) quest to turn in at one of the main bonfire camps.

The Crusader's Coliseum!
(Jun 17, 09)
Well the updates are just coming fast and furious now. The latest update is about the newest tier in raid content—tier 9—to be released in Patch 3.2!

Apparently the next raid tier to come out will be the Crusaders' Coliseum. No info released yet on what the actual encounters will be like, but there have been a few interesting tidbits—apparently there will be four difficulty levels on this one: a normal and heroic 10-man, and a normal and heroic 25-man. They're unlocking one encounter at a time, one per week, Sunwell-style. They're ALSO creating a system (which has already generated some controversy) which limits the number of attempts you get on each boss per raid lockout, and increases the quality of rewards based on how many "tries" you have left when you down him.

Add in a new 5-man dungeon that rewards s, and new Alliance-only and Horde-only skins for gear, and this one sounds ESPECIALLY interesting. The blue post is after the break!

Shaman Changes in 3.2
(Jun 17, 09)
Mount changes...check!
Class mount spells changes...check!
Profession changes...check!
Class changes...class changes...loading...check now!

That's right, Call of the Crusade is getting juicier and juicier! Must be because of the word "crusade" in it...crusade -- paladins -- awesomeness! Hmm...

Anyway, it looks like the Shamans are getting some love now. I myself have a shaman, and one of the most annoying things in the world (you can all confirm that) is dropping totems, pulling them back, dropping again, making sure none of them is dead, and if there is one, drop it again... It's a pain, brothers and sisters! Well, Blizzard has heard our cries of pain, and is about to make our lives a whole lot easier -- the totem bar awaits us in 3.2, along with spells like Call of Fire, which drops all of our totems at once, Totemic Call being renamed to Call of Earth; and two more, Call of Air and Call of Water, which work like the Fire one, just using different presets of totems.

For details and healing juiciness -- read on!

Profession Changes (Buffs) in 3.2
(Jun 16, 09)
Looks like Patch 3.2, Call of the Crusade, will a patch that brings joy and happiness to many, if not all of us. After the Argent Tournament Changes, now we get Profession Changes! Long story short, all of the professions are being buffed.

On a slightly side note, a lot of information starts to leak. Something like this happened about...I believe 2 months before The Secrets of Ulduar was released. Do you think we can expect 3.2 around the end of the summer?

Argent Tournament Changes in 3.2
(Jun 16, 09)
Update - Check the second quote panel.

Content patch 3.1 brought us not only Ulduar and its secrets, but the Argent Tournament as well - a place where brave heroes of both the Alliance and the Horde fought and still fight for recognition from the Argent Crusade. But more important than any of that (for many players) were the nice rewards - weapons on par with Heroic loot, mounts, pets, tabards, banners... and in the upcoming patch, even moar! New seal-rewarding dailies, new mounts, pets, tabards, heirloom items, and even a (costly) upgrade for your squire! In exchange of 150 Seals, your loyal follower will be able to serve as bank, mailbox or vendor!

Read on, and find out about the other changes in the preview!
